Welcome to another edition of proximity podcasts. We have for you the second of the two discussions recorded at the third Australian West Coast Intensive or AWCI. Here, Jacob Lehrer speaks with facilitators Alejandro Rolandi, from Sydney, and Joey Lehrer, from Melbourne, on the final day of the CI Intensive, held in Perth in early February. Their conversation opens up how it has been sharing the facilitation of the event, co-teaching in general and some individual reflections about developing as a teacher of the form. Welcome to our second proximity podcast. In this edition and next we have two discussions initiated by Jacob Lehrer with the facilitators of the third Australian West Coast Intensive or AWCI, held in Perth in early February. The first of these discussions was with Alejandro Rolandi, from Sydney, and took place on the second last day of the Intensive. Their conversation, primarily within the scope of teaching Contact Improvisation, encompasses topics such as the use of language and metaphor, engaging the imagination and matters of intimacy. And, in the final part of the episode we get to hear from Alejandro about love – of and within the form of CI. We hope you enjoy.

This first podcast is from an interview Joey Lehrer conducted with Martin Hughes and Fiona Cook, who founded and established Cecil Street Studio in 1997. Since that time they have supported its development into the current hub of Melbourne’s improvisational community. In early June, as they prepared to handover the studio’s operations to the newly formed committee Cecil’s Moving Body, Joey caught up with them to hear some stories from their past decade. This interview took place shortly after The Jolly Good Show – a special benefit concert put on for Cecil Street Studio by Cecil’s Moving Body.
