David Corbet
Here we are a few days after the birth of Jude Noah Corbet ORourke (born 11th August 2001). It was an amazing (and long) journey for him to get here, and it seems that this is really only the beginning of a much longer trip. Welcome to our little man.
I wanted to put this photo here for a few reasons. The foremost being that of
a proud father showing off his son but also, his turning head keeps catching
my eye. Having spent time with a few different BMC® practitioners and practiced
some of the developmental movement pathways espoused by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen
I finally have the perfect teacher. Watching little Jude respond to touch on
his cheek and the accompanying rooting reflex that (when on his back) initiates
a roll to his side or tummy is a joy. When he wakes he has a little stretching
routine that lengthens and rotates through his spine and extends from his toes
to his fingertips. I could go on (really, I could) but theres plenty more
for you to read in this issue thats not about our baby.
Thanks to the contributors for this edition - Karen Barbour, Juliet Shelley
(good luck with the birth) and the ever present Jonathan Sinatra.
Keep us informed about your practise. Write, draw, photograph, interview, collude
and most importantly dont forget to have a dance...
